LANDMARK HOTEL UNDERGOES MULTI MILLION-DOLLAR RENOVATION

The Grand Summit Hotel is in the process of completing a multi million-dollar renovation of the historic property.  The renovation is centered on a completely new look for the lobby and public space in addition to the complete re-design of a section of guestrooms that will be re-branded as The Summit Club Rooms.   

Designer Hannah Ziolkowski from Chicago in collaboration with the management of the property are working together to enhance the “experience” the guests of the property have come to expect.  Service and culinary reputation have long been a staple, and it is the intention of the design team to enhance that quality with a new look for the space in keeping with the charm and history of the property.  Maintaining the elegance and rich tradition of the hotel are paramount in this effort.

The guestroom renovation encompasses the following:

-Sealy Posturepedic Plush Pillowtop Mattresses with new bedding and pillows including 250-thread count shadow-striped linens in all 144 of the hotel rooms and suites

  -The complete renovation of a 43-room wing of the hotel being re-branded as The Summit Club Rooms.  Changes to include completely renovated bathrooms with Tumbled-Stone Tile Showers and new amenity package

-Dark-Cherry Hardwood Floors in the lower level rooms being completely renovated

-Brand new LG Flat-Screen LCD Televisions in all 149 of the guestrooms and suites

-Brand new Bose Wave CD Radios in all 145 of the guestrooms and suites (Presidential Suites now boast a Bang & Olufsen BEO Sound System)

-In-Room Safes

-Granite-topped dressers

-The lobby long a favorite spot for frequent guests, will receive the following as part of the renovation:

-New carpeting throughout the lobby and public corridors

-New furniture

-42-inch Bang & Olufsen Flat-Screen TV

-Intimate library area in corner of lobby

-All new artwork

-New lighting fixtures

-New color scheme for corridor hallways

-Built-in Refrigerator with pre-made salads, sandwiches, and shrimp cocktail for guests arriving after-hours

-New carpeting and window treatments in the Morris and Coach Rooms 

The Fitness Center located on the lower-level of the hotel has also been completely renovated with the addition of all new equipment, free weights, and an LCD Flat-Screen Television.  In addition to the fitness center offered on property, the hotel maintains a relationship with the Summit YMCA to offer guests complimentary use of the facility while staying at the property.
